ON ALCOHOL/DRUG ABUSE:

The Council
continually provides trainings and workshops
which are open to both professionals and the general public.

TRAINING:
INHALANTS, HALLUCINOGENS and MARIJUANA
The "Inhalants, Hallucinogens and Marijuana Training" is an
OASAS developed and sponsored clinical skills training, appropriate for
both addictions counselors, prevention specialists, or human service
professionals. The training will provide updated information,
including: Signs and Symptoms of use, abuse and dependency of these
substances; Short and Long Term Effects of Use and Abuse; Current Trends
and New Research Findings; the Psychopharmacology of the Different Drugs;
and Prevention, Intervention and Treatment Considerations. The
presenter is Elizabeth Wiatrowski, the Seneca Alcohol/Drug Education
Coordinator for the Council on Alcoholism.
The training will
be available in five sites for easy access:
Geneva: Tuesday,
July 21st;
Watkins Glen: Tuesday, August
4th;
Seneca Falls: Wednesday August
5th;
Macedon: Tuesday, July 7th; and,
Penn Yan: Tuesday, July 28th.
The registration fee is $25, and 6 clock hours are available for CASAC
or CPP purposes.
