1,500 Americans DIE
because of Tobacco, Alcohol and other Drug Abuse
and many thousands more find themselves
in hospitals, mental institutions, and jail.

RED RIBBON DRUG PREVENTION CONTEST

Open to ALL
Students, Grades K-12, from School Districts in
Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Wayne and Yates counties.
National Red Ribbon
Week is being celebrated from October 23rd-31st.
The first Red Ribbon Campaign was organized in 1988 by community
neighborhoods in response to the way that drug abuse was destroying
families and neighborhoods. Since
that time, the campaign has grown throughout
America
in thousands of schools and communities, and has reached out to millions
of youth in the
United States
.
This
year, the Council is sponsoring A Red Ribbon �Stop Drug Abuse�
Contest
open to all Students Grades K-12.
Contest Rules: The contest is open to all
New York
State
students, grades K-12 from schools n
Ontario
, Schuyler, Seneca,
Wayne
and Yates counties. The Quiz
must be completed, and returned to and received by October 15th. One
submission per student allowed. The contest form requires a permission
signature of a parent/guardian. All winning applicants must score a 100
percent (correct) on quiz, but students may discuss, ask for help,
and/or conduct research for assistance with answers.
The five prizes include a laptop computer,
Samsung Tablet, and Gift Cards
The contest quiz must be returned with
appropriate Signatures by October 15th.

Need an AA or AL-ANON Meeting
anywhere in New York State?
We all
know how the devastation of active addiction affects not only the addict
or alcoholic but extends to all who are close and often into the
workplace and community. With this, 12-Step groups often offer a pathway
of hope and help for both the alcoholic or the families and friends of
anyone with an alcohol problem. It often offers the
best assistance for both recovery and long-term recovery.
